When an injury occurs, scar tissue may form between muscles, tendons, nerves and ligaments limiting range of motion and function. This leads to chronic and acute injuries. By breaking up scar tissue and releasing these adhesions, proper function is restored.

The Graston technique, otherwise known as IASTM or SASTM is an innovative, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. The tools developed by David Graston enable the clinician to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions in order to facilitate healing and remodelling. Adhesions within the soft tissue may develop as a result of surgery, immobilization, repeated strain or other mechanisms. Using the Graston technique, these adhesions are broken down allowing for full functional restoration to occur. These tools are also used in the treatment of tendonitis, reduction of post-surgical scarring, regaining range of motion after total knee and hip replacements, carpal tunnel, ITB syndrome, non-acute bursitis and anywhere there is soft tissue restrictions. Furthermore, the Graston technique enhances results from exercise and joint mobilization and thus pairs well with conventional physiotherapy.

Acupuncture is one of the treatment modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It presupposes the existence of a vital energy, or "Qi" that is essential to life and that flows throughout the body. This energy is transported by a system of channels called meridians or pathways that enable a connection between the outer and inner aspects of our bodies.
Acupuncture points are found along these meridians. These points, mapped and documented for thousands of years by the Chinese and Asian societies, have their own characteristics and indications.

As a Somatotherapist and strength and conditioning coach Jay has trained and worked with numerous world class, Olympic and professional athletes.
Jay was the first Dr. Stuart Mcgill Method certified practitioner in Montreal, specializing in how different postural positions stress the spine. The method is known world wide and is the leader in scientific research and teachings on lower back pain. Jay applies all of the Mcgill method teachings in combination with his own finely-honed techniques.
Over his decades long career Jay has successfully helped countless individuals overcome postural and mechanical stresses contributing to chronic or acute pain.
Chris graduated from Concordia University in 1998 and holds a BSc. specializing in Athletic Therapy. He became certified by the Canadian Athletic Therapy association and soon after, worked as head therapist at Cegep St-Laurent for several years. He now practices in a clinical setting at SPC Physio.
Chris’ passion for continuing education has led him to complete several other certificates and courses. Specifically, Active Release Technique, Muscle Energy Technique, Mckenzie Technique, Functional Movement Systems levels 1&2, K-taping, and Neuromuscular Therapy.
Matthew graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, accompanied by a Specialization in Athletic Therapy. He became certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2015 by the Canadian Athletic Therapy association.
Matthew has experience in and off-field treating athletes of all ages as well as the general population. On field included extensive work with intercity basketball and soccer and Concordia Rugby. These experiences allowed him to gain a wide variety of knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries.
Matthew continues to focus his skills on highly specialized manual therapy techniques that have proven to speed up the recovery time in his patients.
Michaela graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has been working as a clinical physiotherapist treating various musculoskeletal injuries in the general population and currently specializes in the management of lower back pain and pelvic incontinence.
Michaela’s history as both an athlete and athletic coach in the field of synchronized swimming has allowed her to gain additional expertise in the realm of sport and exercise. Michaela believes in a holistic approach to rehabilitation and always considers the biopsychosocial factors when providing care to her patients.
Dr Glenn has been a member of the Quebec Order of Podiatrists for 20 years. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia and his BSc. from Concordia University’s Exercise Science program.
Dr Glenn has also practiced at Royal Victoria Hospital, CHSLD Armand-Lavergne, CHSLD Emile-Gamelin and the Jewish Hospital of Hope.
He was President of the professional education committee of the Quebec Order of Podiatrists and he was one of the founding members of university program of podiatric medicine at the Université de Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR).
Dr Glenn continues today to contribute to the profession by mentoring podiatric interns at UQTR and as acting as a volunteer to the ‘FIT FEET’ program of the Special Olympics.
Josh graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, accompanied by a Specialization in Athletic Therapy. Over the past years he worked as an athletic therapist for John Abbott CEGEP men’s lacrosse team and women’s basketball. He has also worked with the Lakeshore Soccer, Lac St-Louis Warriors hockey & Western Patriots football teams. In addition, Josh has also done work at the Perform Centre at Concordia University assessing and treating injuries to the general population.
Josh specializes in rehabilitation for patients with both acute injuries and chronic injuries associated with improper movement patterns. In addition, he has extensive knowledge in the rehabilitation of post surgical spine patients. Josh also continues to focus his skills on highly specialized manual therapy techniques.
Cory graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, accompanied by a specialization in Athletic Therapy. He became certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2016 by the Canadian Athletic Therapy association.
Cory has experience in and off-field treating athletes of all ages as well as the general population - all with the same goal in mind; achieving pain-free movement. His on-field includes extensive work with high-level hockey. These experiences have allowed Corey to sharpen his critical thinking skills and gain knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries of all kinds.
Cory continues to focus his skills on manual therapy and exercise techniques that aid in his client's rehab journey no matter what the injury.
